Just as tonight I was working out the best way to understand complex relationships of community leadership responsibilities (..) I realized that a series of visual representations of it may just be an excellent way to comprehend the ecosystem in which these relationships exist and change.

Taking a step back: visualization of complex matter can help to understand relationships asking youself not what forces are present but how they interact. Consider these interactions between roles, projects, objectives, stakeholder relationships and much more forces in the community.

Recalling the e-mail exchange with Eileen Clegg about visual innovation, I found this article from Luke Wroblewski about visual narratives (understanding the visual organization). If you don't care about the practical aspect, skip the second half.
