In CP Square's community forums, Denhem Grey is talking about finding boundaries and focus inside communities of practice. There's a lot more to it inside these forums, but one link he gave to learn more about ontologies in this context, comes on his site. He said:
[It is important..] ...to help groups form their ontologies, in simple terms, the way they view their world.
An ontology is more than getting agreement on key terms, it is deciding which terms / concepts / patterns matter and which have meaning for the group.
