John Blankendaal from Working Knowledge is writing in this months edition of Energietechniek an interesting article on knowledge management at net-suppliers for energy. He discusses the change in information and knowledge management that these type of companies have gone through in the last decade.
Managing networks is now more sophisticated and more complex, because problems are now being addressed differently. Not as soon as there is an incident, but before the incident on the networt (failure) occurs. Advanced measuring and diagnostic tools allow that change in network management. However, with this change the operations because much more knowledge intensive and require context-specific knowledge about the components and techniques: knowledge networks that include process-specific context can be the future way of working for these companies.
