Yesterday we have spent a full day talking about communities and (radical) innovation in a meeting hosted by Philippe from Solvay (Brussels) as part of the emerging ECCOP. It is amazing to see how very distinct companies are looking at solving the same issues and problems in their communities of practice - and the work that can be done collaboratively to drive innovation to support competitive advantage. It is an excellent initiative and the expectations are high (which it should be) to deliver results after the summer.

Though innovation in a community of practice is perceived by different companies in different ways, the way innovation can be used to accelerate and improve business is not unique to each of the participants. That CoP's can help supporting that, by creating an environment that stimulates both personal as well as organizational capability development, seemed clear from the start. Our own stories merely contributed to that.
On the ECCOP website there should be more information on this next week.
